BEFORE LEHIGH: Played for Hall of Famer Roy Colsey at Ridgefield High School. Selected to the first team All-FCIAC and earned second team All-State honors in 2021. Earned the Spirit Stick Award. Four-star recruit as ranked by Inside Lacrosse. Played in the UA All-American Underclass games and the NLF All-Star games. Won a Connecticut Class L State Championship in 2021.Winkler also was a US BOXLA Gold Medalist for the HIgh School Elite Division -Team Superstar in 2021. He led the team in scoring at the U18 World Box Lacrosse Championships. Completed a prep year at Salisbury, who finished 2023 ranked 10th in the nation by Inside Lacrosse.
