First Team All-Patriot League… Preseason All-Patriot League… Played in and started all 48 games for the Mountain Hawks… Batted .307 with 55 hits, 29 RBIs, 14 doubles, one triple and one home run… Drew 16 walks, was hit by four pitches and stole 13 bases… Made 73 putouts (.941 fielding percentage) with a team-best 134 assists and 16 turned double plays from the shortstop position… Had 16 multi-hit games, including four games of three or more hits… Went 3-5 with an RBI, a double and a run scored in season-opener against Ball State (2/16)… Went 3-5 with two RBIs, two doubles and a run scored against Saint Peter’s (3/16)… Went 3-5 with three RBIs, a double and a run scored against Saint Peter’s (3/17)… Went 4-4 with an RBI, two doubles and two runs scored against Army West Point (5/4)… Had three RBIs in upset win over #20 Iowa (2/18)…
2023 (JUNIOR SEASON)
Appeared and started in 47 games during his junior season for a .314 batting average... tallied 54 hits with eight doubles and a home run for 25 RBIs and 31 runs scored... Recorded 15 multi-hit games with eight of them being three-hit performances... Plated a season high three RBIs in a win over Delaware State, going 2-for-5 with his lone home run of the year with a run scored (4/4)... Scored three runs of his own in a 3-for-5 performance against Holy Cross (4/15)... Recorded 59 putouts with 121 assists for a .947 fielding percentage primarily as the Mountain Hawks shortstop...
2022 (SOPHOMORE SEASON)
Started in all 49 games he appeared in and recorded a career-high 57 hits, 10 doubles, two triples, his first career home run and 25 walks for a .348 batting average... He scored 38 runs while also driving in 31 runs and stole 10 bases for the Mountain Hawks during his sophomore season... Turned in 16 games with at least two hits and had three hits in eight of those games... Plated a career-high four RBIs in a win at Navy, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and a triple and scored a run as well (4/16)... Defensively, Young ended the season with 90 putouts and 142 assists while playing in the middle of the infield...
2021 (FIRST YEAR SEASON)
Appeared in 37 games, including 32 starts primarily at second base in his rookie campaign...had a career-best two hits on six occasions...went 2-for-4 with an RBI at Navy (5/2) and went 2-for-3 with an RBI against Holy Cross (5/8)...ended the season on a three-game hitting streak with a hit in three straight PLCS games vs. Army West Point...led all freshmen with 55 putouts and was third on the team with 79 fielding assists.
BEFORE LEHIGH
A three-year starter at shortstop, Young was a varsity letterman in those three years as well. He was a Carpenter Cup selection in his sophomore and junior seasons and was named a Preseason Perfect Game All-American in the Atlantic Region prior to the 2020 season. A two-time captain, Young hit .330 with a .415 on-base percentage during his junior year, named an All-SOL selection for his performances. He was also a three-year varsity letterman in basketball, named captain and an All-League selection during his senior year. In the classroom, Young earned a cumulative 3.6 GPA.
