WHY LEHIGH?: "I chose Lehigh because it has a great reputation for academics as well as an up-and-coming athletics program. After meeting my teammates on my official visit, I was convinced that Lehigh was the place for me."

2016 (SENIOR SEASON)
Co-captain who was a key weekend starter, making 11 starts in 12 appearances and finishing the season with three wins…struck out 45 batters in 52.2 innings…didn’t give up an earned run in a 6.0 inning outing against Immaculata (5/7) to earn the win…earned a Patriot League victory at Army (4/30) after throwing 5.0 strong innings…struck out a season-best seven batters against Lafayette (4/23) and Navy (4/17)…also earned a win against Coppin State (4/6).
2015 (JUNIOR SEASON)
Served as a key weekend starter, making ten starts in 12 appearances, and finished the season with a team-best five wins…ranked second on the team with 47 strikeouts…earned the victory in game one of the Patriot League Championship series after giving up three runs, only two of which were earned, on five hits in six innings…threw 5.2 one-run frames to earn the win in game one of the Patriot League Semifinal series against Holy Cross…picked up a win against Lafayette…earned non-league victories against Saint Joseph’s and DeSales…struck out a season-best nine batters against DeSales.
2014 (SOPHOMORE SEASON)
Strong sophomore season as a key weekend piece on the mound…posted four wins, two saves and a 3.21 ERA in 15 appearances…struck out a career-high nine batters in the final six innings of the opening game of the Patriot League Championship series…earned the win in game three against Holy Cross to help the Mountain Hawks to their first four-game league sweep since 2010…also earned wins against Mount St. Mary’s, Western Michigan and Maine…pitched the final 0.2 innings of a 3-0 shutout at Army while leaving the Black Knights hitless to earn the save.
2013 (FRESHMAN SEASON)
Tied for the team lead with 16 appearances, including four starts…got his first collegiate win after pitching 2.2 scoreless innings against Coppin State…threw a season-high 5.2 innings while striking out eight batters and surrendering just four hits against Mount St. Mary’s…recipient of a Patriot League Rookie of the Week Award.

BEFORE LEHIGH
Long enjoyed an impressive career for La Salle College high school, capped off by his senior season when he earned First Team All-Catholic honors. The Ed Molush Award winner for pitching (presented to the best pitcher at La Salle), Long was First Team All-Southeastern PA, Philadelphia Daily News First Team All-City and Pitcher of the Year. He was part of the 2012 Philadelphia Catholic League Carpenter Cup Team, and the Philadelphia Catholic Red Division Champion La Salle Explorers. La Salle went on to the Philadelphia City Championship (District 12) and the PIAA AAAA State Tournament Title where Long was the winning pitcher. He was also the Prep Baseball Report (PBR) State Tournament MVP. In the classroom, Long was a First Honors student and a member of the National Honors Society.
