Former Lehigh pitcher J.R. Edwards '15 enters his first season as the team's Director of Operations. Edwards was a five-year member of the Mountain Hawks from 2011 through 2015, and was a key weekend starter on the 2015 squad that captured a Patriot League Championship and made an appearance in the NCAA Regionals.

Edwards posted a 3.67 ERA in 54 innings during that championship campaign, allowing just 49 hits and 22 earned runs while striking out 40. Included was a strong 2.2-inning effort in Game 2 of the Patriot League Championship Series at Navy, allowing just two hits while striking out three. Edwards finished his collegiate career with a 7-6 record and 4.01 ERA.
Currently, Edwards is also continuing his baseball career professionally after signing with the Evansville Otters of the independent Frontier League in August 2016.
