Why Lehigh?: “I chose Lehigh because it offers a great deal academically.  Also, Lehigh baseball is on the rise, and I wanted to be part of a baseball program committed to winning.”
As a junior … appeared in nine games and started two … recorded 14 strikeouts in 22.1 innings … As a sophomore … third on the team with 12 appearances and three wins … struck out a season-high six batters against Villanova on 3/25/08 … as a freshman … appeared in eight games and started two … compiled a 1-1 record with a 5.29 ERA … picked up first collegiate win against Sacred Heart (3/7) … In high school … received multiple two-time honors, including first team All-Intelligencer area, Suburban One Continental League and Central Bucks West MVP awards … earned first-team Bucks Mont League honors as a pitcher and first baseman as a senior and Bucks Mont League honors as a third baseman the previous year … captained the freshman baseball team … earned Who’s Who American High School Students-Sports Edition recognition for baseball and basketball … also lettered in football and basketball … served as football captain during senior year … brother of Andy Russell
