Why Lehigh?: “My recruiting trip to the school was a real experience. Everyone and everything that Lehigh had to offer seemed genuine. I felt at home right away with the coaching staff and the guys on the team. The visit showed me a great school with great athletics and great people.
In 2005-06: Took over for injured Matt Ciasulli at 149 and went on to place second at EIWAs, earning his first trip to the NCAA Championships…excited the Stabler Arena crowd with a tech fall and two thrilling sudden victory wins to advance to the EIWA finals…won three of five matches at nationals, finishing one victory short of the round of 12… helped Lehigh earn tie at No. 4 Oklahoma, scoring a take down and two point near fall late in the third period to upset fourth ranked Matt Storniolo 7-4… placed second at West Virginia Open and went 3-3 at Southern Scuffle.
In 2004-05: deferred eligibility, amassed impressive 17-5 record wrestling unattached in open tournaments…5-0 en route to Wilkes Open Championship at 149… placed seventh at East Stroudsburg Open, two places behind teammate Dave Nakasone… also competed at the West Virginia (1-2), Trenton State (2-0) and Penn State (4-2) Opens…also wrestled at the FILA Junior Nationals in Las Vegas, where he went 4-2 but failed to place.
In secondary school: Two-time
Personal: Son of Dennis and Cheryl Chinn… brother Theron (21)…hobbies include soccer, ping pong and golf
