In 2005-06: Placed third in the EIWA at heavyweight to qualify for first NCAA tournament…scored late reversal to defeat Adam LoPiccolo of American in third place bout… went 2-2 in first NCAA appearance…started season challenging for 197 before bumping up to 285 mid-season…placed third at East Stroudsburg Open and sixth at Southern Scuffle both at 197…defeated surprise NCAA semifinalist Chris Weidman of Hofstra 9-4 in February dual… lost close match to eventual national champion Jake Rosholt of Oklahoma State at dual in Stillwater…competed at University Freestyle Nationals going 1-2 at 211.5 weight class.
In 2004-05: Wrestled as a heavyweight… clutch dual performer picked up 24 overall and was one win short of qualifying for NCAAs … In a five-day span recorded major decisions over Josh Walker of Penn State and Chase Wetenkamp on Missouri, both clinched dual victories for the Mountain Hawks in the final bout… Was a perfect 6-0 en route to first place at East Stroudsburg Open in November… Won four of seven bouts at the
In 2003-04: Filled in for starter Joe Sahl after he went down with an injury, then kept the spot by beating Sahl in a wrestle-off when he came back…performed well, despite starting the season as a 197 pounder…finished the season with a 19-15 record as a starter and placed sixth at EIWAs … reached quarterfinals of Junior World Team Trials
In 2002-03: Deferred eligibility, 4-3 in open tournaments… Finished 5th at the FILA World Junior Trials

Personal: Son of Paul and Cathy Weibel… has two younger siblings, sister Andrea and brother Jonathan… in addition to wrestling, Paul enjoys golf and is a member of the Chi Phi fraternity.
