AS A SOPHOMORE (2012): Emerged as an All-Patriot League starting defenseman, earning Second Team All-League … Finished season with 17 groundballs and 10 caused turnovers in 15 games (11 starts) … Had a groundball in the NCAA First Round vs. #10 Maryland (5/13) … Scooped a career-high five groundballs while causing a turnover in Patriot League Title Game at #10 Colgate (4/29) … Stellar at #17 Colgate, covering the nation’s leading scorer Peter Baum and holding him to a season-low one goal and two points. Earned honorable mention on the Patriot League weekly honor roll … Groundball and two caused turnovers at #17 Penn State (3/20) … Scooped two groundballs in win vs. #15 Yale (3/11) … Had a groundball at #4 UNC (3/3) in first-career start … Posted a groundball and career-high four caused turnovers at #19/18 Penn (2/29) … Caused two turnovers vs. Manhattan (2/25) in first action of the season.
AS A FRESHMAN (2011): Strong rookie campaign, which included increased minutes as the season progressed … Played in six games as a reserve close defenseman, posting four groundballs and a caused turnover … Highlight effort came vs. #9 North Carolina (4/17) when he recorded three groundballs and a caused turnover … Scooped a groundball in the Patriot League Semifinals at #12 Bucknell (4/29) … Made collegiate debut vs. Presbyterian (3/19) while also playing at Holy Cross (3/26), vs. #12 Bucknell (4/15) and in the regular season finale against Lafayette (4/23).
BEFORE LEHIGH: All-Division honoree as a sophomore for Half Hollow Hills West … Continued improvement, earning All-County as a junior and senior … Named Team MVP while garnering the Coaches Award as well … Received the Advanced Regents Diploma … An active member of numerous clubs and organizations, including Athletes Helping Athletes, LI Express, Team Hills and Natural Helpers.
PERSONAL: Son of Mario and Rosemary Mikelinich. Has two brothers, Erik (14) and Nikolas (10).
