Van Lumich Awarded Player of the Week Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior Alex Van Lumich has been named the Patriot League Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon. It is the first
Player of the Week award win in Van Lumich's career.

The Zaragoza, Spain native and Purdue University Northwest transfer went 2-0 across singles and doubles in Lehigh's sweep of Loyola Maryland this past Friday. Van Lumich defeated Petter Hagen 7-5, 6-0 on singles court number one after winning 6-1 on doubles court number two alongside Aleksandar Daskalovic.

On the season, Van Lumich has posted an impressive 11-2 overall singles record and boasts an 11-5 doubles record with a 3-0 mark in league play. T

he Mountain Hawks are currently 3-0 against Patriot League competition for the first time in program history. The team heads to Villanova on Wednesday, April 8 at 2:30 p.m. before returning to league play against Army and Boston U. this upcoming weekend.
