Morgan Named Patriot League Rookie of the Year; Six Mountain Hawks Earn All-League Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Six Mountain Hawks earned Patriot League honors, highlighted by Finn Morgan being named Patriot League Rookie of the Year, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Morgan also earned All-Patriot League Second Team honors, along with junior Luke Winkler, senior Luke McAuliffe and junior Kasey Heath. Senior Richard Checo and sophomore Luke Breslin were named to the All-Patriot League First Team.
Morgan becomes the second Mountain Hawk to be named Patriot League Rookie of the Year and the first since 1995. The first-year attacker scored 45 goals this season, averaging 3.21 per game, ranking second in the Patriot League, top 10 nationally, and first among all first-year players. Morgan recorded a hat trick or better in 11 of Lehigh's 14 games and posted a career-high six goals in his collegiate debut against Fairfield.
Checo earned All-Patriot League First Team honors for the fourth time in his career after totaling 34 caused turnovers and 39 ground balls this season. On Feb. 21, Checo recorded his 163rd career caused turnover, becoming the NCAA Division I all-time leader in the category. He led the Patriot League and ranked among the top five nationally in caused turnovers per game, averaging 2.43.
Breslin earned All-Patriot League First Team honors for the first time in his career after leading the Mountain Hawks with 60 points this season, averaging 4.29 per game, both of which ranked third in the league. The sophomore's season was highlighted by back-to-back eight-point performances in Lehigh's first two contests against Fairfield and Iona.
Winkler earned All-Patriot League Second Team honors for the first time in his career after emerging as one of the top midfielders in the Patriot League. The junior scored 23 goals this season and recorded three or more goals in a game multiple times, highlighted by a four-goal performance in Lehigh's crucial win over Navy.
McAuliffe earned All-Patriot League Second Team honors for the second time in his career and was named All-League for the third time overall after earning First Team honors a season ago. The senior, who regularly draws the assignment of slowing down one of the opponent's top offensive threats, recorded 12 caused turnovers and 13 ground balls this season.
Heath earned All-Patriot League Second Team honors for the first time in his career after tying for the league lead in total saves with 180. He finished second in the Patriot League in save percentage (.544) and tied for second in saves per game at 12.86. The junior's season was highlighted by a career-high 25 saves in Lehigh's loss at Princeton, breaking the Sherrerd Field record for saves in a game.
