Lehigh Closes Dual Season With Hard-Fought 22-19 Win at Sacred Heart

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – In it's final dual of the regular season, Lehigh went on to road and knocked off Sacred Heart 22-19 Sunday at Pitt Center. The Mountain Hawks had to forfeit two weights, but won six of the eight contested bouts, highlighted by five consecutive wins from 117 through 145 to build a cushion.
Genevieve An clinched the dual with a 4-2 decision over Madeline Hodges at 180, on the strength of a second period takedown.
Lehigh closes out its inaugural dual meet season at 15-2.
Sacred Heart claimed the opening bout at 103 as Aaliyah Payne-Parris won 4-0 over Hattie Mack, and then the Pioneers received a forfeit at 110.
Abbi Cooper started the Lehigh run with a 13-0 technical fall over Samantha Yap at 117, the first four straight technical superiority victories for the Mountain Hawks.
Alexa Ciliotta needed just 47 seconds to defeat Tati Walker 10-0 at 124. Ciliotta scored and early takedown and added four turns to tie the dual at 8-8.
At 131, Shannon Govern gave Lehigh the lead for good with an 11-0 technical fall over Cailan Drake, secured in 3:50.
Mary Manis made it four straight technical fall victories with an 11-0 win over Madi Canales in 2:25 at 138.
Sydney Thompson secured the fifth consecutive win, fighting off her back twice to preserve a 15-6 decision over Selena Sifuentes Shafer at 145.
Sacred Heart picked up a 10-0 technical fall at 160 before An locked up the dual with her win over Hodges. It was Hodges who scored the opening takedown, with An scoring a takedown of her own to tie the match at 2-2 after three minutes. An scored the only points of the second period to win 4-2 and clinch the dual for the Mountain Hawks, who forfeited 207.
The victory was the second this season for Lehigh over Sacred Heart, with the Mountain Hawks also winning 31-12 at the Nov. 23 Warrior Duals at ESU.
In an exhibition bout, senior Annika Futch won a 12-8 decision over Tiffany Stoshak.
The Mountain Hawks will be back in action next Saturday at the Grand View Open in Des Moines, Iowa.
The 2025-26 Lehigh wrestling season is presented by the Historic Hotel Bethlehem.
