BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's basketball returns to Stabler Arena on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. to host the Colgate Raiders.
Lehigh (9-13, 5-4 PL) has won each of the past two meetings against Colgate (13-9, 7-2 PL), including a 78-77 victory in Hamilton earlier this month. The Raiders own a 65-44 advantage in the series and won eight straight prior to Lehigh's two-game streak.
If Lehigh wins, head coach Brett Reed would win his 297th game, putting him only three away from becoming the second coach in Patriot League history to reach 300 wins. In addition, Reed's record vs. Colgate would improve to 20-22.
The Mountain Hawks threatened with a comeback effort late in the game, but ultimately Lehigh fell 67-64 to Army West Point on Wednesday. Nasir Whitlock paced the Mountain Hawks offensively with 15 points. Joshua Ingram stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, nine rebounds, five assists, four blocks, and two steals. Hank Alvey registered nine points and nine rebounds while Edouard Benoit also scored nine points. Jalen Vazquez finished the night with seven points, a career-high eight rebounds, and three steals. Alfredo Addesa added seven points in ten minutes off the bench.
Colgate currently sits in second place in the Patriot League with a league record of 7-2. The Raiders have won four of their last five games, including two in a row. Colgate defeated Holy Cross 79-74 at home in their last game on Wednesday. Jalen Cox leads the Raiders offensively with an average of 16.7 points per game. First-year Andrew Alekseyenko (14.4 ppg) and Sam Wright (13.0 ppg) also average double-figures for the Raiders.
