Whitlock Wins Second Patriot League Player Of The Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior captain Nasir Whitlock was named the Patriot League Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. Whitlock has now won the award twice this season.
Whitlock put up huge numbers for the Mountain Hawks last week, averaging 30.5 points on 55% shooting and 60% from three to go along with 3.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per game. The Brooklyn Park, Minnesota native scored 30 points on 12-20 shooting and 4-5 from three with five rebounds and four assists in Lehigh's 93-91 overtime win over Boston University on Wednesday, which included a deep three with 2.4 seconds remaining that sent the game to overtime. Whitlock followed that up with 31 points on 10-20 shooting and 9-9 from the free throw line in Lehigh's 82-79 double overtime loss to Navy on Saturday.
On the season, Whitlock is leads both Lehigh and the Patriot League in scoring at 19.3 points per game on 44.5% from the field and 38.3% from distance. Whitlock has scored in double-figures in 18 of Lehigh's 19 games, has reached 20+ points nine times, and has surpassed 30+ points four times.
The Mountain Hawks return to Stabler Arena tonight at 7 p.m. on CBS Sports Network to host Loyola Maryland.
