BETHLEHEM, Pa. – No. 1 seeded Lehigh women's basketball will host No. 8 seed Boston University in the Patriot League Quarterfinals Monday at 6 p.m. at Stabler Arena. The Mountain Hawks enter with a 24-6 record (15-3 in league play), while the Terriers are 12-18 (5-13 PL). Since this is a Patriot League Tournament game, Lehigh students, faculty and staff do not receive free admission. Faculty and staff should purchase tickets through LehighTickets.com while students should swipe their Lehigh ID upon entry to Stabler Arena and their student ticket will be paid for by Student Auxilary Services.
Lehigh won the Patriot League regular season title for the third time in program history and the first time since the 2009-10 season. The Mountain Hawks suffered just their third league loss of the season in the regular season finale, falling 78-59 to Colgate on March 5. Lehigh struggled on the boards, with the Raiders holding a 41-22 rebounding advantage.
Fifth-year wing and first-team All-Patriot League honoree Maddie Albrecht led the team with 14 points. Sophomore forward Whitney Lind also reached double figures, contributing 13 points. Albrecht, who was one of three Mountain Hawks to receive all-league honors, also earned a spot on the All-Defensive Team, becoming the first Lehigh player to do so since 2019.
Albrecht is averaging a team-high 15.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Senior guard Ella Stemmer was named to the second team All-Patriot League, and first-year forward Belle Bramer earned a spot on the All-Rookie team. Stemmer is averaging 11.5 points per game and is second in the league with 2.4 made three-pointers per game. Bramer, meanwhile, has been a key presence on both ends of the court, totaling 16 steals.
The Terriers advanced to the quarterfinals with a 75-51 victory over No. 9 Loyola on March 8, shooting 50% in the win. Annette Adler led the way with 13 points.
Lehigh and Boston University split the regular-season series, with each team winning on its home court. On Jan. 15, the Mountain Hawks defeated the Terriers 80-54, fueled by a dominant 31-point third quarter after Boston University held a halftime lead. On Feb. 26, the Terriers earned an 80-68 win, as Lehigh struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 3-of-23 from three-point range. Alex Giannaros led Boston University with 29 points, including seven three-pointers. Giannaros was named to the second-team All-Patriot League and is averaging a team-high 13.3 points per game.
Monday's matchup will be the first meeting between the two teams in the Patriot League Tournament since Lehigh's 64-51 victory in the 2021 title game at Case Gym. The Mountain Hawks are 1-0 all-time against the Terriers in tournament play.
If Lehigh wins on Monday, the Mountain Hawks will host the winner of No. 4 Navy vs. No. 5 Holy Cross in the semifinals Thursday at 6 p.m. at Stabler Arena.
