
Two Podium Finishes For Lehigh Men On Final Day Of PLC

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – A pair of bronze-medal podium finishes and a top five all-time addition highlighted the final day of the Patriot League Championships for the Lehigh men's track and field team Sunday at Navy's Wesley A. Brown Field House.

Senior Skyler Mott (high jump) and junior Joe Nowakowski (shot put) finished third in their respective events to lead the way for the Mountain Hawks, who finished in sixth place with 38 points.

JUMPS
Mott earned a podium spot in the high jump, clearing 2.07m. First-year Jaden Ferguson also scored in the event for Lehigh, claiming eighth place by clearing 1.96m.

In the triple jump, Mott paced three Lehigh competitors with a jump of 13.69m to finish 11th in the event. Senior Daniel Givens jumped 13.54m to finish 14th and senior Jordan Layos finished in 16th place with an effort of 13.23m.

THROWS
Nowakowski led three Lehigh throwers with his mark of 15.94m to earn the bronze medal. Senior Liam Lovering finished sixth with a throw of 15.85m, while first-year Aaron Humes finished in 15th place (11.62m)

HURDLES
Lehigh had two finalists in the 60m hurdles. Sophomore Nathan Oliphant ran an 8.34 finals to finish fifth after posting a seventh all-time mark of 8.31 in Saturday's preliminaries. Senior Jonathan Bennett ran an 8.42 to finish seventh.

DISTANCE
The Mountain Hawks had five runners in the 3000m, led by junior Adam Barbato, who ran 8:39.88 and finished in 21st place. Sophomore Ryan Baker ran 8:40.90 to finish 23rd, followed by first-year Ben Connell, who clocked in at 8:41.47.

MULTIS
First-year Neves Hoose and sophomore Andrew Clark finished 10th and 11th, respectively in the heptathlon. Hoose scored 4258 points, setting PRs in six of the seven events, while Clark scored 3939 points with PRs in the high jump and 1000m. Clark claimed second place in the 1000m with his time of 2:46.10.

RELAYS
The distance medley relay team of first-years Ian Zalewski and Peter Priestner, junior Dan Malatesta and senior Aidan Lynch finished eighth with a time of 10:05.79, which is good for fifth all-time on Lehigh's relay list.

The 4x400m relay team of senior Patrez Thomas, senior Ethan Hood, sophomore Logan Haverkamp and first-year Austin Iburg finished fifth with a time of 3:20.15.

Host Navy won its fifth consecutive men's team title with 223 points. The Midshipmen were followed by Army (153) and Boston University (93).
