Lehigh Wraps Up Regular Season On The Road At Army West Point

2/28/2025 11:32:00 AM | Men's Basketball

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The regular season concludes for Lehigh men's basketball on Saturday afternoon on the road at Christl Arena against the Army West Point Black Knights. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. in West Point.

Army West Point (16-13, 10-7 PL) leads Lehigh (10-18, 5-12) in the all-time series 71-49. The Black Knights have won seven of their last ten meetings with the Mountain Hawks, including a 74-69 at Stabler Arena on January 11 earlier this season. The two teams split the season series a year ago.

If Lehigh wins, they would earn their eleventh win of the season and split the season series against Army West Point. Head coach Dr. Brett Reed's all-time record against the Black Knights would improve to 24-15.

Lehigh men's basketball played its final regular season home game of the year at Stabler Arena on Wednesday evening, welcoming the Boston University Terriers. Tyler Whitney-Sidney and Nasir Whitlock both reached career-highs, but the Mountain Hawks fell 79-68. Whitney-Sidney shined for Lehigh, scoring a career-high 32 points on 8-11 shooting and 14-17 from the free throw line. The senior also added three rebounds, three assists and two made triples. Whitlock also posted a career-high, scoring 24 points on 7-11 shooting, 7-8 from the line and 3-5 from distance. The sophomore grabbed two rebounds, dished out two assists and nabbed two steals. Kyrone Alexander led the way for the Terriers with a team-high 21 points while grabbing 10 rebounds to record a double-double.

The Black Knights currently sit in third place in the Patriot League standings. Army has never finished higher than fourth in the Patriot League regular season standings and has a chance to do so with a win over Lehigh. Army West Point is led by senior guard Jalen Rucker, who ranks second in the league at 17.5 points per game. He is complimented by sophomore forward Josh Scovens, who ranks fifth in the league himself at 16.0 points per game. Two other Black Knights average double-figures, those being sophomore Ryan Curry (12.4 ppg) and senior AJ Allenspach (10.9 ppg).

Following Saturday's game, the Mountain Hawks will play in the Patriot League Championship First Round on Tuesday, March 4. Time, opponent and location are TBD.

Saturday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and can be listened to on Fox Sports 94.7 FM and 1230 AM.
