2/16/2025 3:39:00 PM | Men's Basketball
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's basketball has a quick turnaround following Saturday's win over Holy Cross, as the Mountain Hawks will travel to Lewisburg to face Bucknell on Monday, February 17 at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network.
Other than Lafayette, Bucknell (13-14, 9-5 PL) is Lehigh's (10-15, 5-9 PL) most-played opponent all-time. The Bison own a 111-75-1 advantage in the all-time series over the Mountain Hawks. Lehigh has won the last two meetings against Bucknell, both of which were decided in overtime. The Mountain Hawks overcame a 20-point deficit to defeat the Bison 66-64 in overtime on January 2.
If Lehigh wins, they would earn their eleventh win of the season and sweep the season series against Bucknell. Head coach Dr. Brett Reed's all-time record against the Bison would improve to 22-21.
Keith Higgins Jr., Ben Knostman and Tyler Whitney-Sidney were all honored pregame Saturday when Lehigh men's basketball hosted Holy Cross on Senior Day, presented by Rich Mar Florist. The Mountain Hawks earned a 72-60 victory over the Crusaders to sweep the season series. Leading the charge was Whitney-Sidney, who posted a game-high 18 points with three made triples. The senior from Somerville, Massachusetts surpassed Kahron Ross on Lehigh's all-time scoring list to move into sole possession of 16th. Nasir Whitlock tallied 15 points to go along with three rebounds and three assists. Joshua Ingram was the third Mountain Hawk in double-figures, scoring 11 points with six rebounds, two steals and an assist.
The Bison have won five of their last six contests ahead of Monday's game, including their previous two. Bucknell is tied with Army for second place in the Patriot League with a 9-5 league record. The team is led by junior seven-footer Noah Williamson, who averages 16.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Two other Bison average double-figures, those being senior Josh Bascoe (15.1 ppg) and the sharpshooting Ian Motta (10.1 ppg).
