Lehigh Cruises Past Valley Forge 91-52 At Grace Hall

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Fans packed into Leeman-Turner at Grace Hall on Thursday evening to watch Lehigh men's basketball host the Valley Forge Patriots in the team's home opener. The Mountain Hawks picked up their first win of the season in a 91-52 rout of the Patriots.
 

Lehigh (1-1) played its first game inside Grace Hall since 2022, where they defeated Misericordia 97-58. The Mountain Hawks played their games inside Grace Hall from 1942-1979.

Valley Forge managed to keep pace with the Mountain Hawks in the opening five minutes, trailing only 6-5 with 15:36 to go in the first half. Lehigh then began to get in rhythm, opening an 11-0 run to take a 17-5 lead. The Mountain Hawks continued to pull away in the latter half of the frame, outscoring the Patriots 27-14 in the final ten minutes of the half. Lehigh took a 44-22 lead into the locker room.

The Mountain Hawks' offense caught fire in the second half, shooting 59.3% (16-27) from the floor and 43.8% (7-16) from three. Ten different Mountain Hawks scored in the second half to help Lehigh outscore Valley Forge 47-30 in the frame.

First-year Andrew Urosevic shined in his first game in front of the home crowd, posting a game-high 23 points on 9-13 shooting and 5-10 from three-point range. Urosevic scored 16 of his 23 points in the second half.

After scoring 18 on the road at #2 Houston on Monday, junior Nasir Whitlock put up 12 points to go along with seven rebounds and four assists. Sophomore Edouard Benoit scored 12 points himself while junior Joshua Ingram joined them in double-figures with 11.

First-year Caleb Thomas continued to impress in his second game in the brown and white, scoring six points while leading the Mountain Hawks with eight assists and five steals. Sophomore Hank Alvey dominated in only 13 minutes of action, registering eight points, seven rebounds and five blocks.

Playing in his first game since March of 2024, senior Henri Adiassa grabbed a career-high nine rebounds while chipping in four points. Sophomore Peter Kramer (9p), junior Jake Pike (4p) and senior Tommy Conniff (2p) also scored for the Mountain Hawks.

The Patriots were led offensively by Isaiah Reece (12p) and Kyle Jones (10p).

The Mountain Hawks travel south on Sunday, November 9 to take on the West Virginia Mountaineers in Morgantown at 3 p.m.
