BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's basketball will play its first of four consecutive games away from Stabler Arena on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. when the Mountain Hawks visit the Marist University Red Foxes.
Lehigh (2-4) holds a 9-0 record over Marist (3-2) all-time, with the two teams first meeting back in 1982. The Mountain Hawks and Red Foxes have played one another each of the past three seasons, including a 74-69 Lehigh victory last season at Stabler Arena.
If Lehigh wins, they will extend their winning streak over Marist to ten games. Head coach Brett Reed would win his 290th game, putting him only ten away from becoming the second coach in Patriot League history to reach 300 wins.
Lehigh played its second consecutive game at Stabler Arena on Friday evening, falling to Columbia 82-67. Andrew Urosevic led the way offensively for Lehigh after missing the last two games, scoring 19 points on 5-9 shooting from three in 22 minutes of action. Nasir Whitlock added 16 points, Caleb Thomas posted a career-high 13 points and Hank Alvey joined them in double-figures with 12 points.
Marist enters Tuesday's matchup with a record of 3-2 off the heels of a 76-65 victory over Army West Point on Friday. The Red Foxes opened the season with a narrow 66-62 loss at Xavier and hold wins over Dartmouth and Vassar. Marist went 20-10 and 13-7 in the MAAC a season ago, falling in the conference quarterfinals. The team is led offensively by Rhyjon Blackwell at 14.6 points per game while Elijah Lewis also averages double-digits at 11.2 points per contest.
Following Tuesday's game, the Mountain Hawks will travel west to Las Vegas, Nevada to compete in the Resorts World Las Vegas Classic on November 28-29. Lehigh will take on UC Santa Barbara at 4:30 p.m. EST on Friday before facing either Seattle or Texas State on Saturday.
