BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh's men's swimming & diving team competed at home on Friday night against West Chester. The Mountain Hawks outscored the Rams 130-113 to earn a victory in the home opener.

The Mountain Hawks secured six individual wins at the meet, and Jack Deppe was responsible for two of them. The sophomore won the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 1:54.84, and followed that up with a 46.93-second 100-yard freestyle win.

Lehigh had a trio of pairs get first and second across the meet. Andrew Takach was right behind Deppe with a second place finish in the 200-yard individual medley, he swam 1:56.76. Sophomore Will Moon won his first race of the season, swimming 1:43.35 over the 200-yard freestyle. He barely beat out first-year Braeden Roach, who swam a second place time of 1:43.79. The final 1-2 punch of the competition was sophomore Tristan Ronayne and senior Ben Kisker. Ronayne won the 100-yard backstroke in 51.64, and three-hundredths of a second after him finished Kisker (51.67).

The Mountain Hawks took all three podium spots in the 50-yard freestyle. Sophomore Chase Bearley won the event, swimming 21.07. He was followed by sophomore Davis Woerner (21.48) and senior Aaron Williams (21.71).

First-year Spencer Campbell was the final individual champion for Lehigh. His time of 51.84 gave him the win in the 100-yard freestyle.

Lehigh also brought their winning ways into the relays, winning both the 200-yard medley and the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team of Kisker, Spencer Ridge, Williams, and Bearley swam 1:33.82 to take first in the medley relay. The Mountain Hawks won the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:07.83 with the team composed of Deppe, Woerner, Judson McIntosh, and Frankie Prekop.

"Our men really came out tonight," said head coach Rob Herb. "They knew they had a mission if they wanted to get a win over this team, which they didn't have last year. This was one of the goals of the team and they knew they had to step up and everyone stepped up to a point where I'm just in shock. I think they did a great job."

The Mountain Hawks are back in Jacobs Pool tomorrow to face Rider at 1 p.m.
