Lehigh Concludes Patriots With Another School Record

LEWISBURG, Pa. – For the fourth consecutive day at the Patriot League Championships, the Lehigh men's swimming and diving team broke a school record. On the final day of the meet Saturday evening, first-year Tristan Ronayne set a new school record in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:46.51, improving on his prelims time of 1:46.82.

Ronayne finished second in the B-Final and was the only first-year swimmer in the event. He placed 10th overall, while junior Ben Kisker followed in 13th with a time of 1:48.45. First-year Davis Worener added three points for Lehigh, finishing 23rd with a time of 1:52.08.

Lehigh earned 18 points in the 1,650-yard freestyle, with all three Mountain Hawks finishing in close succession. First-year Will Pestrichelli led the trio with an 18th-place finish (16:01.00), followed by sophomore Owen Higinbotham in 19th (16:06.73) and Alfredo Figueroa Sedano in 20th (16:07.99).

In the 100-yard freestyle, Tim Norris placed 18th with a time of 45.13, earning seven points for Lehigh. Jack DeVilbiss added one more point with a 24th-place finish in 46.13.

Lehigh's underclassmen continued to contribute, with first-year Jack Deppe winning the C-Final of the 200-yard breaststroke for a 17th-place finish overall, while sophomore Carson Morris finished 20th with a time of 2:06.95.

In the three-meter dive, Jack Grotke finished in 29th place with 147.05 points.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Deppe, DeVilbiss, Norris, and first-year Chase Bearley earned a fifth-place finish with a time of 2:59.64, just one second shy of a school record.

Lehigh finished the championships in sixth place with 425 points. Army claimed the Patriot League title with 1,611.5 points, ending Navy's 20-year streak as champions.
