Late Goal Lifts Loyola Over Lehigh

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - An 86th minute goal from the Greyhounds was the deciding factor, as Lehigh fell 2-1 to Loyola Friday night at the Ulrich Sports Complex.
The Mountain Hawks struck first in the 20th minute. Aminah Baruwa fed a ball into Taylor Latini, who put it away as Lehigh took a 1-0 lead.
Loyola's Reagan Mallia answered in the 28th minute, evening the score at 1-1.
The knotted score held through halftime, as Lehigh held a slim 7-6 margin in shots. The Greyhounds held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
In the 86th minute, Loyola's Lehigh Carter redirected a cross past Lehigh's R'Reeyah Mabry-Francis, as the Greyhounds won 2-1.
Mabry-Francis recorded four saves, while Loyola's Hannah Goetzer made five.
Faith Dobosiewicz led the Mountain Hawks with four shots, while Baruwa and Cyndea Labissiere tallied two apiece.
Lehigh's graduating class was honored prior to the game. Dobosiewicz, Sophia Lis, Camille Smith, Abby-Lee Sanogo, Dakota Russell and Maggie Ousouljoglou were celebrated for their tenure with the program.
Lehigh (2-7-3, 0-4-1 PL) returns to the Ulrich Sports Complex on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. matchup with Colgate.
