Utesch Releases 2024 Women's Cross Country Schedule

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – With the fall semester rapidly approaching, head coach Debbie Utesch and the women's cross country team are ready to release their 2024 schedule. The Mountain Hawks will compete in five different meets prior to postseason competition, including a newly-formatted Paul Short Run.
"This year's schedule will allow the team to compete on both the Patriot League and NCAA Regional courses prior to those championships," said Utesch. "But we are most looking forward to hosting the 50th running of the Paul Short Run. It should be an exciting season for our young squad."
The Mountain Hawks open the regular season at their own course for the Lehigh Invite on Friday, August 30. Half of the Lehigh team will be competing in this 6K event.
Lehigh will take two weeks away from racing before heading west to the Penn State Spiked Shoe Meet in State College, Pennsylvania on Friday, September 13. The next weekend on September 21 will be the annual rivalry meet against Lafayette, where the Mountain Hawks will look to make it 19 consecutive dual meet victories over the Leopards.
The 50th annual Paul Short Run is scheduled for October 4-5 on Goodman Campus. This year's races will be run over the course of two days, the first such time in event history. The Paul Short Run is one of the largest collegiate and high school meets in the country year in and year out.
Lehigh's final competition before the postseason will take place at Van Cortlandt Park in New York City for the ECAC Championship on Friday, October 18.
This year's Patriot League Championships will be run at nearby Lafayette College on Saturday, November 2 followed by the Mid-Atlantic Regional at Penn State on November 15. The NCAA Championships will be run at the University of Wisconsin on November 23 should any Lehigh athletes qualify.
