Hayes Earns Second Straight Academic All-Patriot League Nod

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League announced its first slate of academic awards for the 2024-25 school year, those being for men's and women's cross country. Senior Maddison Hayes was selected to the Academic All-Patriot League team for the second year in a row, honoring her work both on the course and in the classroom.
Hayes returns to the all-academic team after maintaining a 4.0 GPA as a biology major in each semester she's been in Bethlehem. She has been a Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member five times, a Lehigh Faculty Academic Award winner five times and has been named to the Dean's List five times.
Hayes has been a frontrunner for the Mountain Hawks this season, finishing first for her team in four of the five races she's competed in. She placed 19th at last weekend's Patriot League championship and also was the top Lehigh runner at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe (Sept. 13), Lehigh/Lafayette dual meet (Sept. 21) and the ECAC Championships (Oct. 18). She was named Patriot League Runner of the Week on September 24 after coming in first place at the Lehigh/Lafayette dual meet, helping the Mountain Hawks win their 19th straight over the Leopards.
Lehigh will next compete at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional next Friday, November 15 at Penn State University.
