Mountain Hawks Set To Compete At Dad Vail Regatta

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's rowing gears up for its final competition of the season this weekend at the Dad Vail Regatta in Pennsauken, N.J. The Mountain Hawks will be racing three boats in what is one of the largest meets in the entire country on both Friday and Saturday.
The men last competed at the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) championships on April 28. The Mountain Hawks placed several boats at the event, including third place finishes from the first and second varsity eight+ as well as a second-place finish by the novice four+.
The first race that Lehigh is scheduled to take part in at Dad Vails is the novice four+ time trial at 8:45 a.m. on Friday. The Mountain Hawks will face off against the likes of Oklahoma City, Temple, Merchant Marines, Western Ontario, Fordham, Lafayette, Texas, Army West Point A, Georgia Tech, Stockton, Delaware, Rutgers, Villanova, Union, Pitt and Army West Point B.
The second varsity eight+ will be the next Lehigh boat to go, with their first race of the weekend beginning at 10:05 a.m. on Friday. The Mountain Hawks are one of 12 entrants in the time trial, which also includes La Salle, Drexel, Saint Joseph's, Temple, Jacksonville, Rutgers, Marietta, Rutgers, Loyola (Md.), Embry-Riddle, Delaware and Fairfield.
The final race of the day on Friday for the Mountain Hawks will be the first varsity eight+ time trial at 11:15 a.m. Lehigh joins 17 other schools in the event, including Drexel, La Salle, Jacksonville, Temple, Colgate, Saint Joseph's, Florida Tech, Rutgers, Stetson, Western Ontario, Marietta, Delaware, Embry-Riddle, Rollins, Loyola (Md.), Army West Point and Fairfield.
The men's 2024 season will conclude following Dad Vails while the women have next Friday's Patriot League championships still on the horizon.
