BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh men's lacrosse sophomore Richard Checo earned third team All-America honors from USA Lacrosse, as announced Thursday morning.Â

This marks the second straight season that Checo earned All-America honors from USA Lacrosse after he was named an honorable mention All-American last season. The sophomore defender has had another incredible season in the brown and white, recording 45 caused turnovers. Checo's 2.81 caused turnovers per game are the second-most in the NCAA. In addition to leading the team with 45 caused turnovers, he has picked up 58 ground balls, which is the second most on the team.
In two seasons played, the Oakton, Va. native has racked up 99 caused turnovers, which is the second most in program history. He is only behind Craig Chick '19, who has recorded the most caused turnovers in the NCAA (160). This past weekend, Checo guided Lehigh to a Patriot League Championship victory after recording 12 caused turnovers and 12 ground balls in the Patriot League Tournament.
