4/29/2024 5:00:00 PM | Softball

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh softball team will begin the final week of the regular season by playing its final regular season home game as the Mountain Hawks host Princeton Tuesday in their Pride Game, presented by Lehigh's Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m. from Leadership Park.

The Mountain Hawks' school-record 17-game winning streak was snapped but Lehigh picked up another Patriot League series win, taking 2-of-3 at Army West Point over the weekend.

Graduate student Emily Cimino went 5-for-10 with four runs scored and six RBIs in the series, while first-year Holly Lovett went 4-for-8 against the Black Knights, including three RBIs in Sunday's series finale, which Lehigh won 5-3 to claim the series.

Lehigh is 29-15 overall and now 14-1 in Patriot League play. The Mountain Hawks will visit Boston University this weekend with the winner of the series earning the right to host the Patriot League Tournament May 9-11.

Ivy League-leading Princeton enters Tuesday's game at 24-13. The Tigers sit at the top of the Ivy League standings at 12-6 and is looking to bounce back after dropping 2-of-3 games against Brown. Princeton is led by Lehigh Hall of Fame member Lisa (Sweeney) Van Ackeren, who is in her 12th season leading the Tigers.

Princeton is led offensively by Sonia Zhang, who is batting .412 with five home runs and 22 RBIs. Lauren Sablone leads the Tigers with 28 RBIs.

Four pitchers have thrown 36 or more innings for the Tigers. Cassidy Shaw leads with 91 innings pitched. Brielle Wright has a 2.81 ERA to go along with a 4-3 record. All of Wrights appearances this season have come in relief.

Princeton holds a 33-25-1 lead in the all-time series. Lehigh went 2-1 against Princeton last season with the Mountain Hawks winning twice in Florida over spring break and Princeton claiming a victory in New Jersey.

Tuesday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
