Lehigh Takes Two Sunday at Scarlet Knight Classic

Sophomore Lizzie Kern homered in both games and classmate Kelly Fricker had the go-ahead two-run home run in the sixth inning against Georgetown.
Sunday's wins move Lehigh to 24-26 on the season.
Lehigh started fast against Georgetown (15-20), plating three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Fricker and junior Peyton Sward opened the game with back-to-back doubles and Kern drove home a run with a ground out before junior Gracie Smith singled home Holly Lovett to complete the three-run frame.
Georgetown scored four runs in the fourth to take the lead, highlighted by Devyn Johnson's three-run home run, and added two more runs in the fifth on RBI extra base hits by Gabby Park and Emily Stritt.
The first two Mountain Hawks reached base in the bottom of the fifth before Kern drilled an opposite field three-run home run to right to tie the game at 6-6.
With one on and one out in the sixth, Fricker laced her seventh home run of the season down the right field line, giving the Mountain Hawks an 8-6 lead.

Her two-run homer is her third hit of the day and Lehigh is back in front!

Lehigh finished with 11 hits against Georgetown pitching. Fricker went 3-for-4 while Kern added two hits.
First-year Addison Moorman went the first 4.1 innings in the circle allowing six runs on six hits over 4.1 innings. She walked two and struck out two. Sophomore first-year Madison Finnerty threw 2.2 scoreless innings to earn the victory.
The Mountain Hawks fell behind early against Hofstra with the Pride plating an unearned run three batters into the bottom of the first. Senior Chloe Hess prevented any further damage as Lehigh trailed just 1-0 after one.

First-year Lola Fasano led off the third inning with a double and scored the tying run on an RBI ground out by Fricker. Sophomore Helen Woloshyn then scored on a wild pitch to give Lehigh a 2-1 lead.
The contest stayed 2-1 into the seventh when Fricker doubled home two runs and later scored ahead of a tag on a fielder's choice by Lovett. Kern followed with a two-run home run, her sixth of the season, to put Lehigh up six.

Hess allowed one unearned run on five hits over five innings. She struck out six and did not walk a batter. Finnerty threw the final two innings to earn the save.
Kern, Smith and Woloshyn all had multiple hits against the Pride (20-15).
Lehigh will visit Villanova for a single game Wednesday at 4 p.m. before resuming league play at home against Lafayette May 2-3.
