BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's rowing first varsity eight+ was named the Patriot League Boat of the Week, as announced by the league on Wednesday morning. The Mountain Hawks excelled on the water against the likes of Loyola (Md.), Fairfield and Iona at Lake Nockamixon on Saturday.

The women's 1v8+ competed in two races at Lake Nockamixon on Saturday, the first against Fairfield and Iona and the second against Patriot League side Loyola. The Mountain Hawks finished in first with a time of 8:08.7 in the 2000m race while besting the Greyhounds by 26.8 second at a time of 8:04.7 in their second 2000m race.

The races were the first of the spring season for the Mountain Hawks, who now will race in two more competitions before the Patriot League championships in Pennsauken, N.J. on Friday, May 17. Next up for Lehigh will be the Knecht Cup, which will take place in Cherry Hill, N.J. this weekend from April 13-14.
