Struck’s School Record Highlights Weekend of Competition

RALEIGH, N.C./WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - After securing the indoor 200m school record earlier this year, senior Ashley Struck claimed the outdoor 200m record as Lehigh competed at the Monmouth Open and Raleigh Relays this weekend.
Women's and men's distance competed at the Raleigh Relays while all other event groups plus a handful of mid-distance/distance runners competed at the Monmouth Open.
SPRINTS/HURDLES
Accompanying her record-breaking performance at the Monmouth Open, Struck moved to third all-time in the 100m with a third all-time mark of 11.98. Sophomore Gianna Mangilli followed behind in the 100m with a fourth place mark and seventh all-time finish (12.32). In the 400m, senior Simone Davey clocked in at 59.42 claiming sixth place. Continuing a strong showing for the sprints, first-year Iciar Gorospe picked up PRs in both the 200m and 400m with 28.37 and 1:05.90, respectively.
In her first time competing in the collegiate hurdles, sophomore Grace Kennedy won the event with a ninth all-time mark of 1:03.52.
MID-DISTANCE/DISTANCE
After a strong indoor season, sophomore Abby Klebe continues to write her name in Lehigh's top 10 lists, landing eighth all-time in the 1500m at the Raleigh Relays with 4:30.81. Senior Lindsay MacLellan's mark in the steeple at the Raleigh Relays, moved her to third all-time with 10:36.99.
At the Monmouth Open, Riley Morrell (4:48.16) along with Grace Hughes (5:52.33) earned PRs in the 1500m.
THROWS
At the Monmouth Open, first-year Avery Dowkus earned two PRs across both discus and hammer throws with 33.52 and 46.73, respectively. Junior Jennifer Whipple followed suit in the hammer throw with a PR of 40.7.
JUMPS
In the high jump, senior Kerry Perna claimed first with a jump of 1.65m, just one centimeter shy of her PR. First-year Gaea DePass took fifth with a PR of 1.55m. Lehigh earned the top two spots in the triple jump as Casey Talamini-Kelemen took first (11.86m) and Nina Cicalone claimed second (11.58m).
Sophomore Laura Reigle earned the win in the pole vault, logging a height of 3.55m.
Lehigh heads to Easton next Saturday for The Rivalry dual meet matchup at Lafayette.
