Mountain Hawks Look To Sweep Track and Field/Cross Country Season Series

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh track and field teams head to Easton for a dual meet matchup of The Rivalry with Lafayette on Saturday. Lehigh looks to sweep The Rivalry across cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field to secure six total wins over Lafayette on the year. In the indoor season, the women picked up a 108-77 win and the men topped the Leopards 106-75.
 
Twelve women's athletes picked up PRs in the indoor meeting and ten men's athletes secured PRs. Lehigh won 12 out of 17 events for the women and the men's squad won 14 out of the 17 total events.
 
In last season's outdoor dual, the Mountain Hawks dominated Lafayette with the men winning 126-76 and the women outpacing the Leopards 126-73. The men's squad has won ten consecutive outdoor dual meets and the women have won the last six straight.
 
Last weekend at the Monmouth Open, senior Ashley Struck claimed the outdoor 200m record (24.2), accompanying her indoor 200m school record. On the men's side, men's javelin has produced two top-10 finishes thus far this season, with Greg Stagliano claiming fourth with 62.84m and Wil Jacques following behind in fifth with a 62.25m mark at the Fred Hardy Invitational.
 
The meet is set to begin at 10 a.m. with the men's pole vault inside to Kirby Sports Center and men's javelin kicking off competition outside at 11:30 a.m. Action on the track kicks off at 12:45 p.m. with the final event slated for 5 p.m.
