
Lehigh Splits Weekend Between Fred Hardy Invitational and Penn Challenge

RICHMOND, Va./PHILADELPHIA - The Lehigh track and field program capped off a two meet weekend with Friday's Fred Hardy Invitational in Richmond, Va. and Saturday's Penn Challenge in Philadelphia.

In the sprints at the Fred Hardy Invitational, senior Ashley Struck won both the 100m and 200m 24.95 and 56.97, respectively. Sophomore Grace Kennedy continued her strong sophomore campaign outdoors, moving to eighth all-time in the 200m with a 25.37 finish. Kennedy went on to secure a PR in the 400m, clocking in at 58.06.

Junior Riley Morrell picked up a PR in the 800m with 2:18.65. In the throws, junior Jennifer Whipple. In the 3000 steeple, senior Grace Kolbe claimed second with a PR of 11:34.55.

Winning the javelin throw at Fred Hardy with a IC4A qualifying mark, junior Wil Jaques logged a fifth all-time mark of 62.25m. After a PR at Army, junior Greg Stagliano followed suit in second with a throw of 60.98m. Sophomore Joe Nowakowski claimed a PR in the hammer throw with a distance of 41.61m.

Junior Daniel Givens transitioned into the outdoor season in Richmond with a PR in the triple jump, recording a mark of 13.86m.

Sophomore Abby Klebe won the 800m with a time of 2:12.62, while sophomore Sydney Kusner picked up a PR of 2:34.59. In the 1500m, Lehigh's top finisher in Lindsay MacLellan PRed with 4:43.99, which was good for 12th place. First-year Alex Heidemann picked up a PR in the men's 1500m, crossing the finish line in 3:59.77.

Men's pole vault competed in Philadelphia with sophomore Tyson Utesch and first-year Eli Johnson tied for third with jumps of 4.02m.Â

The Mountain Hawks are back in action next weekend for another double meet weekend featuring the Raleigh Relays on Thursday and Friday in Raleigh, N.C. and the Monmouth Open on Friday and Saturday in West Long Branch, N.J.Â
