BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh looks to keep their winning streak alive on Wednesday evening against the Boston University Terriers at Stabler Arena. The game will be the first of two home contests this week for the Mountain Hawks to close out the regular season.
Lehigh (12-15, 9-7 PL) trails in the all-time series against Boston U. (13-16, 8-8 PL) 14-9 and have lost each of the past two matchups. The Mountain Hawks fell by only one point to the Terriers in their first meeting this season in Boston. While the Terriers own a 10-3 advantage in the series on their home court, the Mountain Hawks have gone 6-4 against Boston U. all-time at Stabler Arena.
If Lehigh wins, they will win their sixth consecutive game and split the season series against Boston U. In addition, the Mountain Hawks can clinch a top-four seed with a win and a Bucknell loss on Wednesday.
Lehigh continued its hot streak on Saturday with a 71-63 win over rival Lafayette in Easton. The Mountain Hawks took down the second place Leopards thanks to a double-double (16p, 12r) from Burke Chebuhar. Tyler Whitney-Sidney added 15 points while Keith Higgins Jr. scored 14 points off the bench in the win. The Mountain Hawks clinched a top-six seed in the Patriot Leading standings with the win, meaning that they have avoided playing a game in the first round of the upcoming tournament.
The Terriers enter Wednesday's game as winners of their last three matchups, including an 82-79 overtime victory over Loyola Maryland in their last time out. Senior Miles Brewster leads the team in scoring at a mark of 10.6 points per game, followed by Anthony Morales at 9.1 who just returned from a month-long injury on February 17. Brewster tallied 17 points off of four three-pointers in Boston U.'s win over the Mountain Hawks earlier this season. The Terriers hold an 8-8 record in Patriot League play and can continue the climb the rankings with two more games to go.
Wednesday's game will be aired on ESPN+ and can be listened to on Fox Sports Radio 94.7 FM and 1230 AM. Lehigh will be celebrating DEI Day presented by the Lehigh University Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity and the Lehigh Philharmonic will be performing at pregame and halftime.
