The Rivalry Returns to Bethlehem as Lehigh hosts Lafayette Saturday Night

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's basketball returns home to Stabler Arena for the second straight game on Saturday as the Mountain Hawks host Lafayette at 7:30 p.m. in The Rivalry, presented by Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute. Saturday will also be Lehigh's pink out game.Â
The Mountain Hawks enter Saturday's game with a 15-10 overall record and a 7-7 Patriot League record. The Leopards are 9-16 overall and 4-10 in league play. The Mountain Hawks are currently sixth in the Patriot League standings with four games left in the regular season, and the Leopards are 10th in the league.Â
Lehigh is coming off of a 77-60 win over Army on Wednesday night. Maddie Albrecht had a career-high performance with 28 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals. That was also Albrecht's second-career double-double. The senior guard is averaging a career-best 10.1 points per game She's also third on the team in rebounding, corralling 4.7 rebounds per game. Albrecht has scored in double figures in 10 games this season.Â
Albrecht led the way against Army, going 10-of-13 from the field, but Lehigh as a whole shot well, putting up a season-high shooting percentage of 58.3%. Lehigh was also effective from long range, going 9-of-19 (47.4), which is the second best three-point shooting percentage on the season for Lehigh.Â
Colleen McQuillen and Meghan O'Brien both added 16 points against the Black Knights. McQuillen has now finished in double figures the last four games. McQuillen is also second in the Patriot League in assists, dishing out 3.9 per game.
The Leopards are coming off of a 75-49 loss to Colgate. Abby Antognoli and Makayla Andrews led the way with eight points each. They also both are averaging a team-high of 12.7 points per game.
Lehigh leads the all-time series 58-48 and has won the last three meetings. In the first meeting of the season on Feb. 10, the Mountain Hawks defeated the Leopards 70-68 in overtime after Lily Fandre scored the game-winning basket with 32 seconds left in the game. Ella Stemmer led the way with 18 points, while also corralling a career-high eight rebounds.Â
