Mountain Hawks Close Out Fall Campaign In Scrimmage With Villanova

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Lehigh women's rowing traveled west on Sunday morning for their final competition of the fall season. The Mountain Hawks competed in a scrimmage against Villanova University hosted by Bucknell University at the Susquehanna River.
"It was our last scrimmage of the fall so we took that as an opportunity to push our limits and finish as strong as we could," said first-year Victoria Bazarko. "We have some things to improve on but that makes me excited to go into the winter and spring season."
Lehigh was originally slated to face off against both Bucknell and Villanova in Sunday's scrimmage, but due to the water being low, only the Mountain Hawks and Wildcats competed. The scrimmage consisted of three 1000-meter races for two eight-person boats and one four-person boat for a total of nine races.
"We were told to go out there and rip it and that's what we did," said sophomore Olivia Shafer. "It was awesome."
"We got to finish out the fall racing season with some really strong pieces this morning," said sophomore Meghan Hastings. "Our boat was able to take effective moves and left everything out on the water."
The Mountain Hawks will now set their sights on 2025 and the spring season.
