
Lehigh Men's Lacrosse Announces Class of 2027

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh men's lacrosse head coach Will Scudder has announced the incoming class of 2027, which features a total of 14 recruits.
The class is headlined by five four-star recruits as ranked by Inside Lacrosse: Kasey Heath, Zach Mesa, Brian Mullen, Luke Winkler and Connor Riley.
"We brought in 14 high character, talented, lacrosse players that represent some of the top high school and club teams in the country," said Scudder. "These first-years showed tremendous loyalty throughout the recruiting process and I am eternally grateful for that. We have high expectations for this class and I could not be more excited to start my journey as a head coach with these 14 young men."
Jack Archer/Midfield/Garden City, N.Y./Garden City High School/5-11/185
A Garden City native, Archer earned honorable mention All-American honors. Archer was named to the All-County team, earned All-Long Island second team honors and was named the Long Island Championship MVP. In the classroom, he earned honor roll status and was named to the Academic All-County for lacrosse and football. Garden City ranked 20th in the nation in Inside Lacrosse's final high school rankings.
Why Lehigh? Â I chose Lehigh because of the people who are involved in the lacrosse program. From the top down, all the people involved are so committed to not only making you a better lacrosse player, but a better man.
Trever Brotons/Attack/Clinton, N.J./North Hunterdon High School/6-0/180
Was a two-time first team All-Conference member. Selected to the second team All-State his junior year and first team All-State as a senior. Holds school records for most points in career (248), most points in a season (106), most assists in a season (63) and most assists in career (161). Named team captain as a senior.Â
Why Lehigh? Â I chose Lehigh University because it presented a remarkable opportunity for my academic and career aspirations. Athletically, Lehigh continues to compete for a Patriot League Championship year after year. The combination of these two factors ultimately made it an easy decision when choosing where to spend the next four years.Â
Austin Conner/Midfield/Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven/5-11/195
Conner was a two-time second team All-Central League member and a second team All-Delaware county member. Conner also excelled in the classroom, earning the scholar athlete award. Conner also played varsity basketball for two years and football for three years, where he earned All-Delaware County honorable mentions.
Why Lehigh? Lehigh was the perfect school for me to earn an elite education while playing the sport I love with a great group of guys who truly feel like family.
Clayton Gengras/Attack/Bloomfield, Conn./Berkshire School/5-11/195
Gengras was named to the first team All-NEPSAC his senior year. Was a team captain in 2022 and 2023. Named MVP of his team his junior and senior year.Â
Why Lehigh? Â I chose to attend Lehigh for many reasons. Lacrosse and academics were my main driving factors in my college process so Lehigh was very attractive to me when I first started looking at schools. The coaching staff was something that stood out to me right away. They are great people. The more I learned about Lehigh's business school and the elite academic offerings, I knew Lehigh was the right place for me.Â
Kasey Heath/Goalie/Chester, Md/Kent Island/6-0/231
A four-star recruit as ranked by Inside Lacrosse and one of the top goalies and players coming out of Maryland, Heath was named the best 2A player in Maryland. Was a finalist for the Brian Kelly award. A two-time MPSSAA All-State Goalie. Led Kent Island to a State Championship in 2022 and 2023. Was also a standout football player, earning all-state honors.Â
Why Lehigh?  I really like where Lehigh is located. I get to play in the competitive Patriot League. Lehigh had what I wanted to do for a major. The coaching staff really brought me in like I was already a part of the team.
Bo Horvath/Midfield/SSDM/Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East/5-10/180
Won the Chesmont League Championship in 2022 and 2022. Was a two-time first team all-league honoree, a two-time All-Area Chester county selection, a two-time first team All-State recipient, and a two-time US Lacrosse All-American. Horvath was also named the Box-to-Box Player of the Year in 2022 and 2023. Was voted as the Downingtown East Player of the Year in 2022. Named an Under Armour All-American in 2021 and 2023. Horvath was the team captain his senior year..Â
Why Lehigh? Lehigh University offers exactly what a student/athlete needs. It has incredible academics, successful athletics and the staff to make it all happen. Lehigh is a family, and that's what I was looking for.
Zach Mesa/Defense/Plantation, Fla./Culver Military Academy/5-10/190
A Florida native, Mesa was a three-year starter at Culver Military Academy in Indiana. Culver was ranked eighth in the nation by Inside Lacrosse's in their final high school rankings. He was named a four-star recruit by Inside Lacrosse and NLF. Mesa Was a Maverick Showtime All-Star and a Main Stage All-Star. Earned All-MSLA first team honors.
Why Lehigh? I choose to attend Lehigh because of the coaching staff, the premier academics, the culture, and the great lacrosse team.
Brian Mullen/Midfield/Rockville Centre, N.Y./Avon Old Farms/6-1/200
Mullen was ranked as a four-star recruit by Inside Lacrosse. He was ranked as the 63rd best player in the 2023 class, according to NLF. Mullen was a Showtime & Main Stage All-Star.Â
Why Lehigh? I chose Lehigh because of the people and the campus. Everywhere you go on campus, you meet good people. When you talk to someone about Lehigh, they only have good things to say about it. The campus is beautiful, and the school itself has so much to offer as a scholar and as an athlete.
Owen Murphy/Defense/Rockville Centre, N.Y./Chaminade/5-11/175
Murphy had a standout junior year, where he was named to the All-League after leading the league in caused turnovers. Chaminade ranked 14th in the nation in Inside Lacrosse's final 2023 high school rankings. Â
Why Lehigh? Â I chose to attend Lehigh because it has the perfect blend of athletics and academics. It easily had the best mix out of all the schools that recruited me.
Ryan Penton/ Defense/ Miami, Fl./Westminster Christian High School
A starter on varsity for five years. Penton was named a team captain his sophomore year. Was selected to the first team All-County and All-Region his junior and senior year.Â
Why Lehigh? I chose to attend Lehigh because of the elite academics
and amazing opportunity to play lacrosse at the highest level while being able to learn from an excellent coaching staff and a very talented group of players. I felt Lehigh would challenge and assist me in becoming the best version of myself, on and off the field.
Hunter Polonkey/Attack/Ortonville, Mich./Brother Rice/6-0/185
Was a two year varsity captain and a starter for varsity for three years. Named a US Lacrosse All-American. Earned first team All-State honors. Also named the team MVP. Selected to the All-Catholic League and was a Michigan Player of the Year finalist.Â
Why Lehigh? The coaches, current players, and staff all welcomed me with open arms and I felt very at home every time I visited. Lehigh's rigorous academics and renowned athletics is what drew me to the university. The campus is also beautiful and felt like a perfect fit for myself.
Connor Riley/Faceoff/West Chester, Pa. /Salsenium/5-11/180
Riley was a four-star recruit as ranked by Inside Lacrosse. Riley was a two-time first team All-State selection. Also excelled in the classroom, as he spent three semesters on the Presidents List. Salesianum finished the 2023 season ranked 23rd in the nation by Inside Lacrosse.Â
Why Lehigh? I chose Lehigh University because it is an exceptional school with a large alumni network and a great lacrosse program. After meeting with Coach Scudder on my visit, I knew the school was a perfect fit for me.

A standout defensive midfielder his junior and senior seasons at St. Anthony's, who finished second nationally in the final Inside Lacrosse 2023 high school rankings.Â
Why Lehigh? I could see myself really fitting in with the team. The coaches are incredible mentors and the school provides an elite education.
Luke Winkler/Midfield/Ridgefield, Conn. /Salisbury School/6-0-176
Played for Hall of Famer Roy Colsey at Ridgefield High School. Selected to the first team All-FCIAC and earned second team All-State honors in 2021. Earned the Spirit Stick Award. Four-star recruit as ranked by Inside Lacrosse. Played in the UA All-American Underclass games and the NLF All-Star games. Won a Connecticut Class L State Championship in 2021.Winkler also was a US BOXLA Gold Medalist for the HIgh School Elite Division -Team Superstar in 2021. He led the team in scoring at the U18 World Box Lacrosse Championships. Completed a prep year at Salisbury, who finished 2023 ranked 10th in the nation by Inside Lacrosse.Â
