Lehigh Readies for 2023 ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Track and Field Championship in Virginia May 13-14

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Lehigh track and field programs are set to compete at the 2023 ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia this Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday will begin with field events at 10 a.m. with the women's hammer throw, followed by the women's shot put, men's high jump, women's pole vault, women's long jump and the men's javelin all starting at 1 p.m. The men's long jump is set to begin at 1 p.m. followed by the men's shot put, pole vault and javelin and the women's high jump scheduled to start at 5 p.m.

Track events on Saturday will take place at 1:45 p.m. with prelims for the men's and women's 100m and 11om hurdles with 100m dash prelims following suit. At 2:50 p.m. the 1,500 races will begin followed by the trials for the hurdles and 100m dashes. Starting around 5 p.m., the 800m races will begin with the 3,000m races, the 3,000m steeplechases running. Capping of Saturday will be the men's and women's 5,000m and 10,000m runs.

Field events will get things started on Sunday, starting with the men's discus at 10 a.m. with both the men's and women's triples jumps taking place at 12 p.m. The women's discus concludes field events with the women's discus, which is scheduled to begin at 12:45 p.m.

The men's and women's 4x100m relays kick off the track events Sunday morning at 11 a.m., followed by the women's 100m hurdles and men's 110m hurdles. The 400m and the 100m dashes will follow before the 400m hurdles take the track at 12:40 p.m. The 200m dashes will begin at 1:20 p.m. before the 4x800m and 4x400m relays wrap up the ECAC/IC4A Championships.

Women's Participants
Sprints
Ashley Struck will race in the 200m and 400m dashes while Lauren Powell is set to run in the 400m hurdle event. Also running in a hurdles event in Ashley Griesmeyer, who is scheduled to run in the 100m hurdles.

Distance/Mid-Distance
Savanah Beavers and Lindsay MacLellan will be racing in the 3,000m steeplechase while Abigail Tenreiro will run in the 10,000m event and Maddison Hayes is set to compete in the 3,000m race.

Simone Davey and Svea Wickelgren are set to run in the 800m race while Christina Yakaboski, Andrea Miller and Elena Perez-Segnini will be racing in the 1,500m event.

Davey, Wickelgren, Perez-Segnini, Yakaboski, Abigail Klebe and Lauren Heskin, could participate in the 4x800m relay, an event that the Mountain Hawks won at the Patriot League Championships a week ago.

Jumps

Kerry Perna will be the lone Mountain Hawk competing in the high jump while Lillian Mauger will try her luck in the long jump. Nina Cialone and Casey Talamini-Kelemen will both be in the triple jump.

Men's Participants
Jumps
Ian Scott is coming off claiming the gold medal in the triple jump at the Patriot League Championships and will be competing in the triple jump and long jump for the Mountain Hawks. Skyler Mott will be the other member of the Brown and White to compete a jumps event, doing so in the high jump.
Throws
Three members of Lehigh, Greg Stagliano, Hunter Rodarmel and Wil Jaques are set to compete in the javelin. Jaques and Alex Clevenger will both throw in the discus while Clevenger also competes in the shot put.

Patrez Thomas is scheduled to compete in the 400m hurdles while Dan Stipanov is set to race in the 110m hurdles. John Siani will race in the 100m dash as Amondo Lemmon is the lone Mountain Hawk to run in the 400m dash.

Distance/Mid-Distance
Kerem Ayhan and Jacob Martinez will both compete in the 800m race while Adam Barbato and Tyler French will run in the 3,000m steeplechase.

Kevin Harvey, who captured gold at the Patriot League Championships a week ago will run in the 5,000m race. Three Mountain Hawks, Aidan Lynch, Daniel Malatesta and Martinez will be running in the 1,500m race.
Lehigh's 4x800m relay squad will consist of Joseph Cranley, Lynch, Martinez and Ayhan.
After the conclusion of this weekend's 2023 IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship, Lehigh will wait and see if anyone qualifies for the first round of the NCAA Championships, which will take place Wednesday through Saturday, May 24-27.
