Mountain Hawks Boast Six First-Place Performances in Lehigh Games

BETHLEHEM Pa. — The Lehigh men's track and field team hosted the Lehigh Games at the Goodman Track and Field Complex on Friday and Saturday, April 7-8 and claimed six first-place finishes.

The non-team scoring event featured seven other teams that joined the Mountain Hawks at this year's games: Bucknell, East Stroudsburg, Kutztown, Lafayette, Moravian, Sacred Heart and St. Joe's.
Throws
The Mountain Hawks had four finishes in the top seven in the javelin with first-year Wil Jaques throwing a PR distance of 59.65m to win the event and move into sixth all-time in the history of the program. Sophomores Hunter Rodarmel, Greg Stagliano and Gideon Coprivnicar also finished in the top seven with Rodarmel throwing a personal bestdistance of 57.29m for second place and 10th all-time, Stagliano hitting a PR mark of 56.14m for fourth place and Coprivnicar finishing seventh with a personal best of 47.54m.

Sophomore Liam Lovering won the discus with a PR mark of 50.58m, winning by almost four meters while junior Alex Clevenger placed eighth with a personal best of 42.27m. Clevenger followed up with a third-place finish in the shot put with a PR of 15.60m and Lovering threw a distance of 14.34m for eighth place.

Junior Achilles Mouzakis was the top Lehigh finisher in the hammer with a throw of 53.02m while Lovering finished eighth with a PR toss of 50m.

Jumps
Two Mountain Hawks finished in the top five in the long jump with sophomore Mulenga Malama finishing second with a mark of 6.58m and first-year Daniel Givens reaching a distance of 6.35m for fifth place. Coprivnicar turned in a mark of 6.16m for ninth and sophomore Jordan Layos finishing 10th with a distance of 6.12m.

First-year Tyson Utesch and sophomore Jack Murphy both competed in the pole vault and Utesch finished fourth at a PR height of 4.10m and Murphy placed fifth after clearing 3.95m.

In the triple jump, Givens and Layos finished in fourth and fifth respectively with Givens reaching a PR of13.18m and Layos hitting a mark of 12.44m. Junior Eli Aaronson and senior Brittann Pierce finished sixth and seventh in the high jump with Aaronson clearing 1.88m and Pierce clearing 1.83m.
Sprints
In the 110m hurdles, junior Daniel Stipanov took home first place with a personal best of 14.90 seconds while sophomore Jack Murphy recorded a time of 58.17 seconds in the 400m hurdles, placing fourth.

Senior Amondo Lemmon finished first in the 400m dash with a PR of 49.25 seconds. Sophomore Patrez Thomas earned a top-three finish with a mark of 50.35 for third place.

Senior John Siani placed fourth in the 100m event with a personal best time of 11.20 seconds with fellow senior Cole Lavalle finishing in eighth with a mark of 11.81 seconds.

Lemmon and Siani finished one after the other in the 200m dash with Lemmon placing fifth with a time of 22.52, matching his personal best and Siani in sixth at 22.59 seconds for a new personal best.

Mid-Distance/Distance
First-year Adam Barbato won the 3,000m steeple chase in a time of 9:28.19, winning by over 28 seconds while classmate Max Leffler finished fifth with a time of 10:11.0.

First-year Daniel Malatesta earned a first-place finish in the 800m run when he crossed the finish line in 1:56.43 for a personal best and just 0.03 seconds ahead of the competitor behind him. Sophomore Ethan Hood was the next Mountain Hawk to cross the finish line, doing so in 1:59.38 for 12th place.

Senior Riley Williamson was the first to complete the 5,000m race to win the event with a time of 15:28.05 for a PR while classmate Ethan Davis finished fifth with a time of 16:00.10.

The first Mountain Hawk to cross the finish line in the 1,500m race was first-year Alex Heidemann, who finished the event in 4:04.01 for seventh place and a new PR. First-year Thomas Arnold was the next member of the Brown and White to finish, completing the race in a personal best 4:06.46 for 11th place.

The Mountain Hawks' will travel to Lewisburg to compete in the Bison Outdoor Classic from Friday through Sunday, April 14-16 at the Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. All three days are set to be streamed on FloTrack.
