Lehigh Enjoys Solid Showing At Bison Outdoor Classic

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Lehigh men's track and field team completed the three-day Bison Outdoor Classic Sunday evening at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. Among the PRs set over three days at Bucknell were seven new additions to the men's top 10 lists.

Throws
Reigning Patriot League Male Field athlete of the Week Liam Lovering picked up where he left off, finishing second in the discus with a throw of 51.44m, good for fourth all-time. Lovering was also Lehigh's top finisher in the hammer throw (45.21m) and the shot put (15.38m). Junior Alex Clevenger was Lehigh's No. 2 finisher in both the discus (41.59) and shot put (15.24). Sophomore Hunter Rodarmel led Lehigh in the javelin, finishing 10th with a throw of 56.48.

Mid-Distance/Distance
Senior Kerem Ayhan had a strong 800 meters on Sunday, finishing fourth with a time of 1:49.28 good for second all-time. Five Mountain Hawks competed in the 800m with four posting PRs: sophomore Aidan Lynch (1:54.29), senior Joseph Cranley (1:54.51) and first-year Daniel Malatesta (1:55.46).

Lynch added a PR Saturday evening in the 1500 meters, with a time of 3:50.38, good for ninth all-time. Malatesta also posted a PR in the unseeded 1500, finishing in 3:59.04.

Sophomore Kevin Harvey closed out Saturday's action by finishing sixth in the 10,000 meters with a time of 29:51.69, a new PR and good for third all-time.

First-year Adam Barbato ran a PR in the 5,000m with a time of 15:15.13. Senior Tyler French led the way in the 3,000 steeplechase, posting a PR of 9:20.31.

Sprints
Lehigh runners cracked top 10 lists in both the 400m and the 400m hurdles. Senior Amondo Lemmon finished 12th in the 400 with a time of 48.64 to move into seventh all-time. Sophomore Patrez Thomas is now seventh in the 400m hurdles after finishing fourth at Bucknell with a time of 53.45.

Lemmon also led Lehigh in the 200m with a time of 22.29. Senior John Siani had Lehigh's fastest time in the 100m with a time of 10.93.

Jumps
Sophomore Skyler Mott cleared 2.03m to finish fourth in the high jump. Senior Brittann Pierce and junior Eli Aaronson both cleared 1.88.

Multis
Sophomore Gideon Coprivincar enjoyed a terrific decathlon, finishing fourth overall with 6296 points as he moves into ninth place on the all-time list. Coprivinicar posted PRs in five of the 10 events: the long jump (6.25), shot put (10.31), high jump (1.87), pole vault (4.45) and 1,500m (5:00.26).

The Mountain Hawks will compete at two meets next weekend: Moravian's Coach P Invite in Bethlehem, Pa. Friday-Saturday and the Rider Invitational, Saturday in Lawrenceville, N.J.
