Nine Mountain Hawks to Compete at U.S. Open/U20 Nationals in Las Vegas

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Freestyle season has arrived and several Lehigh wrestlers will be back in action this weekend in Las Vegas. Nine wrestlers are expected to compete in either the U.S. Open or UWW/U20 Nationals, Thursday through Sunday at South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa.

Junior Sheldon Seymour is expected to competed at 57 kg in the U.S. Open, beginning Thursday at 1 p.m. ET. Senior freestyle action will wrap up with the medal matches Friday night.

Eight wrestlers are expected to compete at U20 Nationals, a group that includes Carter Bailey, Kimo Leia, Owen Reinsel, Kelvin Griffin, Max Brignola, Owen Quinn, Remy Brancato and Nathan Taylor.

The U20 Nationals competition begins Saturday and runs through Sunday evening's medal round. The event in Las Vegas serves as a qualifying event for the 2023 U20 World Team Trials, June 2-4 in Geneva, Ohio.
