WEST POINT, N.Y. - In the final regular season game of the year, the Lehigh women's basketball team defeated Army 69-42 at Christl Arena Wednesday night to clinch the No.3 seed in the Patriot League Tournament. Lehigh will now host No. 6 Bucknell on Monday, March. 6, at 6 p.m.

"The theme of the day was play," said head coach Addie Micir. "We knew the scout, and we knew our systems, and I just wanted them to play hard, play smart, play together and play with joy, and we sure did."

The Mountain Hawks are 16-13 overall and 12-6 in Patriot League play, while the Black Knights are 10-16 and 10-8 in the league.

Four Mountain Hawks finished in double figures on Wednesday, with Mackenzie Kramer leading the way with 16 points. Anna Harvey had a career-high of 15 points. LIly Fandre had 11 points, and Ella Stemmer added 10.

"Anna's playing like a senior should, and she's doing it on both ends," Micir said. "Army really wanted to pressure us, and when you pressure the passing lanes, it opens up gaps to drive, and Anna's got a quick first step, and she's strong and got to the rim and finished the easy ones."

Army started out with an early lead, but the Mountain Hawks climbed back to take a 14-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Hottinger gave Lehigh the first lead with 4:27 left in the first quarter, which put Lehigh up 6-5, and Lehigh would hold onto the lead for the final 35 minutes.

Army shot 54.5% in the second quarter, which marked its best shooting quarter of the game, but the Mountain Hawks also exploded in the second quarter, shooting 52.6% from the field.

The Mountain Hawks were 5-of-11 in the second quarter from three-point range. Anna Harvey had 13 points in the first half, which tied her career-high at the time. Harvey was instrumental in helping give Lehigh the early lead. She ended the game, going 6-of-9 from the field.

A 27-point second quarter helped Lehigh to a 41-22 halftime lead.

The Black Knights came out of the half with an 8-0 run to cut Lehigh's lead to 11. Army could not get any closer. Lehigh rebuilt its lead and led 58-38 after Mackenzie Kramer's layup beat the third quarter buzzer.

The Mountain Hawks carried the momentum over into the fourth quarter. Lehigh was 4-of-11 in the final frame and held the Black Knights to just two field goals in the final 10 minutes to hold onto the win.

Lehigh ended the game shooting 45.2% from the field while holding Army to just 27.3% from the field..

"This is a team that gets after it on the glass, and we knew, in order for it to be a stop, you have to defend and rebound, and I thought we did a really good job of keeping bodies in front of bodies," Micir said.

The Mountain Hawks had a 34-31 advantage on the glass while also controlling the paint. Lehigh scored 36 points in the paint, and Army scored 20 points in the paint.

The Black Knights turned it over 17 times tonight, while the Mountain Hawks recorded 11 steals.

Hope Brown led Army with 12 points.

Tickets to Monday night's game can be purchased at LehighTickets.com or by visiting the Stabler Arena box office prior to tip off.

"The focus is on us," Micir said. "It's been on us the whole season. We want to make sure we're the best that we can be, so we're off tomorrow and going to go support our men, and then Friday, Saturday, Sunday, we will practice once we know who we have."
