BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Following a dominating victory at home against Lafayette on Feb. 4, the Lehigh women's basketball team will take on Colgate at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Stabler Arena on Pride night, presented by the Office of Diversity, Inclusion & Equity and the Pride Center.
The Mountain Hawks stand alone in third place in the Patriot League with a 7-4 record, while Colgate is in fifth place (5-6 PL). Lehigh and Colgate both have an overall record of 11-11.
The last time these two teams met was on Jan. 2. Colgate bested Lehigh 69-59 in Hamilton, N.Y., using a strong second half to come out with a victory. Frannie Hottinger and Mackenzie Kramer were the only players to finish in double-figures against Colgate. Hottinger had 24, and Kramer had 19 points.
Hottinger had a team-high of 28 points against the Leopards last week and was named the Patriot League Player of the Week for the sixth time this season after her stellar performance. Kramer followed Hottinger with 17 points.
Lehigh shot 46.7% as a team from the field on Saturday and was 12-of-27 from beyond the arc. The Mountain Hawks are third in the nation in three-point made field goals per game (9.8) and are first in the nation in free throw percentage (80.4%).
Hottinger and Kramer are both close to joining the 1,000 point club. Hottinger needs 33 more points, and Kramer needs 31 more points. Only 21 Lehigh women's basketball players have ever reached the 1000 point mark. Emma Grothaus '22 did it against Navy last season.
Lehigh comes into Wednesday's game leading the league in scoring at 72.2 points per game. The Raiders have the second-best defense in the league, holding teams to 55.8 points per game.
Colgate is led by Taylor Golembiewski. The sophomore is averaging 11.9 points per game.
The Mountain Hawks are 46-29 all-time against the Raiders.
