The Mountain Hawks Set to Host Loyola (Md.) on Senior Night

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's basketball team returns to Stabler Arena to host Loyola (Md.) for Senior Night and 3's for a Cure presented by Red Robin in partnership with LLS. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Lehigh (14-10, 9-4 PL) enters the game coming off an 81-53 loss on the road at Colgate on Wednesday night in Hamilton, N.Y. The Brown and White were led by senior Reed Fenton, who made his first start since the last meeting between these two squads on Jan. 2, shot 6-for-12 from the floor to match his season-high of 14 points. He also recorded two charges and brought down three rebounds. Taylor and Higgins Jr. also reached double-figures on the night, with Taylor scoring 11 points with five rebounds and a team-high three assists while Higgins Jr. added 10 points with four rebounds and a steal. Seven other Mountain Hawks contributed a basket Wednesday, including four points from Knostman who added two assists and a steal. Sophomore Burke Chebuhar and first-year Henri Adiassa each scored three points with a bucket and one made free throw while senior Jakob Alamudun, juniors Dominic Parolin and JT Tan, and first-year Tommy Conniff each recorded a basket.

Taylor, Higgins Jr. and sophomore Tyler Whitney-Sidney are averaging 13-plus points for the Mountain Hawks. Higgins Jr. averages 14.5 points per game and 1.9 assists per contest to go with a team-leading 51 three-pointers. Taylor recently reached 1,000 career points and is contributing 14.5 points with 6.5 rebounds per contest while Whitney-Sidney is scoring 13.0 points per outing, and a team-leading 35 steals and 2.1 assists per game, along with 4.6 rebounds.

Loyola (8-18, 3-10 PL) is coming into Saturday night's game off a six-point loss to Army West Point (76-70) on the road. The Greyhounds have lost their last three games since defeating Bucknell (80-66) on Jan. 28. The only common non-league opponent between the programs has been UMBC when the Greyhounds lost 72-69 and Lehigh fell 88-62. Two Greyhounds are averaging double-figures, with Kenneth Jones scoring 11.5 points per game and leading the team with 84 assists and 49 steals. Jaylin Andrews is averaging 10.8 points per outing and is bringing down 3.8 rebounds per game to go with 40 assists and 17 steals. Deon Perry is scoring 9.4 points and leads the Greyhounds in made three-pointers with 50.

Lehigh leads Loyola (Md.) 15-14 in the overall series and has won is 6-4 in the last 10 meetings. The Greyhounds swept the season series a season ago but the Mountain Hawks claimed their last meeting (1/16) in Baltimore and won their third straight game inside the Reitz Center. Lehigh looks for the season sweep of the Greyhounds since the 2019-20 season.
