BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's basketball's Ella Stemmer was named the Patriot League Player of the Week, as announced by the league Monday afternoon.

This marks the second player of the week honors for Stemmer this season. Stemmer garnered her first Patriot League weekly award on Nov. 20.

The Ann Arbor, Mich., native had a career-best week as she averaged 35 points, 3.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals over two games.

Stemmer had 33 points in just 27 minutes of action in the record-breaking 106-60 win against La Salle on Thursday. The junior guard followed that up with another career-high performance, scoring 37 points Sunday against Pitt, which tied a single-game points record that was set in 1986 by Liz Feeley.

Stemmer also made 10 three-pointers against the Panthers on Sunday, which is a Patriot League single-game record. The previous record was nine, which was set in 2008 by Alex Ross.

Stemmer's 10 three-pointers helped propel Lehigh to 19 three-pointers against the Panthers, which is also a Patriot League single-game record. It came one game after the Mountain Hawks tied their own record with 17 made three-pointers against La Salle.

Stemmer also was very efficient this week as she made 16 three-pointers after shooting 55.1% from beyond the arc.

Through 10 games played, Stemmer is averaging 3.90 made three-pointers per game, which is the third most in NCAA Division I women's basketball.

Lehigh will have over a two week break from games before hosting Rider on Dec. 30 at 2 p.m.
