BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following the first weekend of the 2022 regular season, Lehigh baseball first year Jake Whitlinger was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week by the league office.
Â
Whitlinger was impressive in his first weekend with the Mountain Hawks in the three-game series at Davidson, batting .545 (6-for-11) with two RBIs, reaching base a total of 10 times through the three games. He slugged .545 and reached base at a .667 clip as the lead-off man. In his first career collegiate game on Friday, he went 3-for-4 with a two-run single in the eighth inning to put a dagger in the team's 5-0 shutout victory of the Wildcats.
