
Men's Track and Field Set to Host Angry Birds Invitational

 BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After a one-month break for final exams and the holidays, the Lehigh men's track and field team returns to Rauch Fieldhouse on January 15 for the annual Angry Birds Invitational. The meet begins at 10:30 a.m. with the women's weight throw and will feature Binghamton, Monmouth and Sacred Heart.Â

This will be the second of three consecutive home meets for the Mountain Hawks this season. The team opened up the 2021-22 season with Fast Times Before Finals on Dec. 3-4. The Mountain Hawks finished their season opener with 13 PRs and two top 10 all time additions.Â

First-year student-athlete Jonathan Bennett had an incredible performance in his first collegiate meet. Bennett finished the day with a PR and first place finish in the 60m Hurdles (8.29). He is currently tied for fourth in Lehigh history.Â
Sophomore Achilles Mouzakis was able to add two PRs in the shot put (11.79m) and weight throw (14.96m) during the two-day competition. John Siani also had an impressive season-opener for Lehigh. The junior finished second in the heptathlon where he PRed in five of the seven events.Â
