
Lehigh Announces 2021-22 Schedule, Season Tickets Now On Sale

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh wrestling will be welcoming the fans back to Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall this season. The historic venue will be operating at full capacity for the 2021-22 campaign as Lehigh unveiled its schedule on Wednesday.
The Mountain Hawks will host nine home dates inside Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall, with the annual Brown and White Wrestle-offs kicking things off on Oct. 28. Lehigh will host eight duals, with longtime rivals Cornell and Navy visiting in January. Ivy League foes Columbia, Penn and Princeton will also visit Bethlehem this season after sitting out the 2020-21 academic year.
Season tickets for the 2021-22 season, both renewals and new season tickets, are now on sale. Starting at $72, season tickets include all nine matches inside Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall. Fans can visit lehightickets.com or call 610-758-4263 to lock in their tickets today.
The deadline to renew season tickets and guarantee the same seats from the 2019-20 season is Friday, Oct. 15. Wrestling mini-plans go on sale on Wednesday, Oct. 13 with single match tickets going on sale on Wednesday, Oct. 20.
A promotional schedule for the season will be released in mid-October.
The dual meet season begins with a trip to Corvallis, Oregon for a pair of duals on Saturday, Nov. 6. Oregon State is hosting a tri-meet that matches Lehigh against Campbell and the host Beavers for their first competition date of the season.
Lehigh will once again participate in the round-robin Journeymen Collegiate Classic, scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 14. This year the event moves from Troy, N.Y. to the Spooky Nook Sports Complex in Manheim, Pa., the same venue that hosted the 2021 EIWA Championships last February.
The home opener will be Sunday, Nov. 21 as the Mountain Hawks welcome in-state rival Pittsburgh to Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall.
The Mountain Hawks will be off from competition over the Thanksgiving holiday and will return to action with a pair of in-state road duals Dec. 4-5. Lehigh will visit Lock Haven for the first time since November 2006 on Dec. 4 and the next day will head to Penn State for meeting 109 in Lehigh's most-contested all-time dual series.
In addition to the Collegiate Classic, Journeymen Wrestling is also hosting a new iteration of the National Duals, in which Lehigh will be a participant. The event is slated for Dec. 20-21 in Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
The 2022 portion of the Mountain Hawks' schedule features 10 duals, including three double-dual home weekends.
Lehigh hosts Binghamton on Friday, Jan. 7 and resumes its rivalry with Cornell on Saturday, Jan. 8. It will be the 99th meeting between the Mountain Hawks and Big Red, who have combined to win the last 20 EIWA team titles (Lehigh nine and Cornell 11).
A four-dual home stand continues the following weekend as Lehigh hosts Columbia on Jan. 14 and Navy the following afternoon. Lehigh will wrestle Columbia for the first time since 2015 and the first time in Bethlehem since 1997. It will be meeting No. 102 between Lehigh and Navy with the Midshipmen ending the Mountain Hawks' nine dual win streak in the series back in January.
The Mountain Hawks will face a tough road test when they visit Gallagher-Iba Arena to meet Oklahoma State on Jan. 23. Lehigh picked up just its second-ever win against Oklahoma State in the last meeting in November 2019.
After a weekend off from competition, Lehigh opens February with a pair of duals as the Mountain Hawks host Penn Feb. 4 and then will travel to Army West Point on Feb. 6.
The home schedule wraps up the following weekend as the Mountain Hawks host Princeton (Feb. 11) and Bucknell (Feb. 12). The dual season wraps up with a visit to Arizona State the following weekend.
Lehigh will bid for a fifth straight EIWA team title in early March as Cornell will host the EIWA Championships for the first time since 2003. Official dates are still to be announced but will either be Mar. 4-5 or Mar. 5-6.
The NCAA Championships are set for Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Mar. 17-19.
Lehigh returns 10 wrestlers who have previous qualified for the NCAA Championships, four EIWA Champions and three wrestlers who have received All-America honors from the NWCA.
