Clougherty and Hottinger named Academic All-Patriot League selections

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the second consecutive season and the second time in Lehigh women's basketball history, two players were named Academic All-Patriot League selections as both senior Mary Clougherty and sophomore Frannie Hottinger earn the honors for the first time in their careers. The two Mountain Hawks follow Camryn Buhr and Hannah Hedstrom, who earned nods for the 2019-20 campaign.
To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team and Scholar Athlete of the Year, the student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) and be a starter or key player. Freshmen are not eligible for this honor.
Clougherty, who enters her final semester of her undergraduate career as an accounting major, has earned a 3.81 GPA in her three and a half years so far. The senior was named a Second Team All-Patriot League selection on Wednesday. Clougherty averaged 12.8 points per game and 2.7 assists per game in 12 games this season, including nine starts. With 113 career 3-pointers, she is currently ranked 10th all-time in program history and led the Patriot League in 3-pointers made per game this season at 2.5.
Hottinger had a terrific sophomore season on both the court and in the classroom. The business major has a cumulative 3.94 GPA so far and on the court earned Second Team All-Patriot League honors for the first time. She led the Mountain Hawks in scoring at 14.0 points per game, as well as rebounds with 6.9. She scored in double figures eight times and had three 20 or more-point games this season as well.
This season marks the fourth year in a row with a student-athlete from Lehigh on the Academic All-Patriot League list.
The Mountain Hawks start Patriot League Tournament play on Sunday at 2 p.m., hosting Holy Cross in quarterfinal action at Stabler Arena.
