Top Drawer Soccer names Luchini to Preseason Best XI

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — With the Lehigh men's soccer season almost exactly a month away, junior forward Josh Luchini received more recognition ahead of the 2021 campaign, named to Top Drawer Soccer's Preseason Best XI, on the second team announced by the publication on Friday.
This particular honor comes after Luchini was named to the prestigious MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List on Jan. 28. He was also named a Second Team Preseason All-American by College Soccer News back in September.
Luchini had a phenomenal sophomore season in 2019, helping lead the Mountain Hawks to their third Patriot League championship in program history. During the season, he led the Patriot League in goals with 11, adding two assists to his total and was named Offensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-Patriot League selection for the first time.
To top it all off, Luchini was named a Third Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches for his efforts.
The Wexford, Pa. native has scored 17 goals and tallied six assists for 40 points in 40 appearances through his first pair of seasons. Luchini has led the Patriot League in game-winning goals in each of the last two years, registering nine.
Luchini and the Mountain Hawks kick off the spring 2021 season on Mar. 6 at American.
