PLT seeding to be determined in regular season finale at Colgate

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – It all comes down to the final matchday of the 2021 Patriot League regular season schedule, as the Lehigh men's soccer team travels to Colgate Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Having already clinched a spot into the Patriot League Tournament, the Mountain Hawks (4-10-2, 4-4-0 PL) are now playing for seeding against the Raiders (0-17-0, 0-8-0 PL). A win and a Navy loss on Wednesday would secure Lehigh the No. 4 seed and a home quarterfinal matchup on Saturday.
As of late, Lehigh is currently on a roll having won each of its last three league games in decisive fashion. The Mountain Hawks last defeated Boston University 5-3 on Saturday. The team has scored eight goals in its last two games with three against Navy two weeks ago.
Senior forward Josh Luchini was awarded Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring a brace with an assist for five points in the victory over the Terriers. The award was the sixth of his career and first of the season.
Junior forward Jack Sarkos also finished with identical stats as Luchini, scoring two goals with an assist in the win. Sarkos has scored five goals over his last two games after registering his first career hat trick against Navy.
Sarkos leads the Mountain Hawks with 16 points (7 goals, 2 assists), with Luchini closely behind at 15 points (5 goals, 5 assists) through the team's 16 games on the year.
Lehigh's five goals were joined by seven assists and the Mountain Hawks led the Terriers in shots, 21-17 including 11-6 in shots on goal.
Colgate enters Wednesday night on a 17-game losing streak, looking to get its first win of the season in the final game of the year. The Raiders have been out-scored 36-4 in 17 contests. Three different players have scored three goals led by Edward Bass, Max Edelstein and Ryan Krueger.
In goal, Nick Gerlach has made 12 starts with a 2.02 GAA and 25 saves, while Andrew Cooke has started the other five contests with a GAA of 2.20 and 19 saves.
The Raiders scored their first Patriot League goal since Sept. 29 on Saturday at American, falling 2-1. The goal was an own goal scored by an AU defender.
Colgate holds a slim lead in the all-time series vs. Lehigh, 16-15-7. However, the Mountain Hawks have won the previous two meetings including a 1-0 victory at the Ulrich Sports Complex in the spring finale. Lehigh scored a 2-1 victory on Oct. 2, 2019 the last time it played at Beyer-Small '76 Field.
Wednesday's fixture will be streamed live on ESPN+ (subscription required) with opening kick set for 7 p.m. from Hamilton, N.Y.
